It’s so much good about the movie. I have watched the movie for many times, it brings out my tear every time. The moment Neil commit the suicide, the moment Mr. Keating’s leaving and Todd and other classmate stand at the desk and cry out “captain, my captain”, they can really kill me.
Mr. Keating is a feature of instructor, in my opinion, few teachers or parents could deserve the name of instructor, like the other teachers in the school, they follow to the old manner of teaching, they to some extent compel their own sense of worth to the students, and they just cannot understand all the things that the students pursue.
When it comes to the parents, things gets more complicated, it is said that parents are the last people in the world to be blamed. And I have to say, children is the last people in the world to be based on. Parents keep basing on their children to live their own dream. It is terribly unfair for the children, a human must have his own choice of what kind of life he is gonna live and what kind of person he wanna be. Parents consider Children as the last of their life, want them to achieve what themselves can’t do, ignoring if that is what their children pursue for, it is absolutely wrong. Children is a separate entity, they have their own world.
The movie tells mostly about teaching and I felt a lot about this part, but I think the relationships between parents and children are also couldn’t be ignored, because they affect every single person around us. And the movie performs really well in depicting these kinds of relationships.
